NEW DELHI, July 23 – A joint-venture of India’s Mahindra & Mahindra , which makes the no-frills Logan in India, plans to export the model as higher borrowing costs and fuel prices trim sales.
Mahindra Renault also hopes to roll out a version of the sedan which runs on cheaper natural gas in the next 2-3 months, Chief Operating Officer Nalin Mehta said on Wednesday as he launched a premium variant of the Logan.

LONDON (Thomson Financial) – Mortice Ltd. said its unit Peregrine Guarding Ltd. and Tenon Property Services Ltd. have won contracts worth a combined value of 912,000 pounds a year. The India-based security and facilities management company said Peregrine Guarding has been awarded six new contracts for the provision of security services in India and Tenon Services, the group’s facilities management arm, has won three new contracts. LONDON (Thomson Financial) – Symphony International Holdings Ltd. said it has completed a joint-venture with an established Thai partner for the development of a branded life-style residential and recreational development in Bangkok, Thailand adding Symphony has invested a total of $78.3 million in this joint venture.
In addition, the company has acquired about 23.028 million shares in Parkway Holdings Limited, for a total investment of $47.0 million. Parkway operates three hospitals in Singapore as well as radiology, laboratory and primary healthcare businesses. Parkway also has an extensive Asian footprint with operations in Malaysia, India, China and Brunei. Source CNBC

MUMBAI, July 23 – Satyam Computer Services Ltd , India’s No. 4 software exporter, said on Wednesday it had signed an agreement with U.S.-based Infospectrum to provide services for the aviation industry.
Satyam will provide services to operators and providers of maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities , as well as components repairs, it said. Infospectrum already provides solutions to the aviation, aerospace and defence industries.

MUMBAI (Thomson Financial) – India’s Sesa Goa Ltd., a 51.2 pct-held unit of FTSE-listed Vedanta Resources Plc., said its first-quarter net profit rose, together with revenues.
For the quarter to end-June, the company said its net profit rose to 6.3 billion rupees from 1.31 billion a year earlier, while total revenue rose to 13.4 billion rupees from 5.3 billion rupees. Source CNBC

MUMBAI (Thomson Financial) – India’s Crompton Greaves Ltd. said on Wednesday its net profit for the first quarter rose about 37.5 percent to 1.23 billion rupees from 892 million rupees in the first quarter of the previous year.
In a regulatory filing, the electrical equipment manufacturer said its sales for the first quarter were about 20.35 billion rupees compared with about 16.06 billion in the same period a year ago. Source CNBC

MUMBAI (Thomson Financial) – India’s Mastek Ltd. said its net profit for the quarter to end-June rose to 385.8 million rupees from 348.9 million the previous quarter.
In a regulatory filing, the software services company said net sales in the April-June quarter rose to 2.45 billion rupees from 2.33 billion the previous quarter.

MUMBAI (Thomson Financial) – India’s state-run trading company MMTC said it first-quarter net profit rose to 537.6 million rupees, from 389.30 million in the year-earlier period. Its total income for the quarter to June 30 was 97.82 billion rupees, from 60.83 billion. Source CNBC
